Wusum Stars FC is set to host Old Edwardians in a postponed matchday one fixture on Saturday, December 2nd. Currently positioned 2nd in the league standings with 7 points from three matches, Wusum Stars have displayed an impressive start to the season under the guidance of Head Coach Mohamed Lamin Kamara.
Despite the gaffer missing their last home match against Real Republicans due to a CAF “A” License course in Ghana, Coach MLK remains a beacon of hope for the Wusum Stars’ current performance.
On the other hand, Old Edwardians which sit in 4th place in the league have proven to be a formidable opponent with three matches played having won one and drew two – a total of five points gained. With the addition of Leone Stars Professional, Kwame Quee has significantly bolstered their squad. Led by former Bo Rangers head coach and Leone Stars assistant coach John Dominic Konneh, the May Park Boys are expected to provide a tough challenge for their Northeast region-based counterpart.
Both teams won in their previous encounter in the 2022/2023 league season. The May Park Boys won a scintillating 4-0 in Freetown, while Wusum Stars responded with a 2-0 victory at the Wusum grounds in Makeni.
Notably, the Northern Rock boasts a 90% winning record at their home, the Wusum stadium, making it a formidable fortress for visiting teams. Saturday’s fixture promises to be a compelling battle between two in-form teams seeking to assert dominance in the league. A must-watch match awaits us.
