Bhantal FC and East End Lions Football Club shared the points in an entertaining match at the Parade Ground on Saturday, December 2, 2023.
The match started with high intensity from both sides as the visitors East End Lions came close to taking the lead in the ten minutes of play in the first half, while the host Bhantal FC failed to make use of their chance in the 20th minute of play.
Ibrahim S. Conteh breaks the deadlock in the 26 minutes of play as Mohamed Kamara places a deciduous pass between the two defenders of Bhantal FC, and Ibrahim S. Conteh takes a quick turn and fires the ball back into the net as the goal gives the visitors the early lead in the first half of play.
In the early second half of play, in the 47th minute, the host gets their equalizing goal as Ernest Koroma takes a spectacular free kick in the (18) yard box and Mohamed A. Kamara puts a head to the ball to give the host the vital equalizing goal.
Both sides pushed hard to get the winning goal, but the defensive work of either side held on for a point in the match.
The outcome of the match has now left the East End Lions searching for their first win in the ongoing Leone Rock Premier League and one of their worst starts of the season in years. They currently sit in tenth place after four matches with four points.
The host Bhantal FC is in fifth place after four matches with six points. Mohamed A. Kamara, a player in 27 Jersey for Bhantal FC, won the match award.
At the end of the match, East End Lions fans put up an unsportsmanlike behavior. They rushed to the field, trying to attack the match officials with stones. If not for the intervention of the security, it could have been a different story.
